There's a 1st Time for Everything!

A new baby and being new parents brings many firsts!

On February 7th, Hadley rolled from her back to her belly on the carpet. The official first time was at her  her 4 month doctor appointment, but she did it that day and didn't do it again. Now she is a pro!

February 11th is a day that Brandon and I want to forget. It was a Friday and we were ready for the weekend. We enjoyed the salad bar and pizza at Mazzio's. Hadley talked to us throughout dinner and played with her new best friend, Sophie Giraffe. We got home and got her bottle ready with formula. Hadley has only had breastmilk since she was born and we felt it was time to start supplementing her. I just can't keep up with her 30+ ounces of milk each day while working. After a short period of time, Hadley started choking. I thought she was rejecting the formula as most breastfed babies will do at first. Hadley was choking and there was nothing I could do to help her breathe. Brandon stepped in during my state of panic. Her lips tripled in size. Her eyes were watering and itching. Her skin was turning bright red. Hadley had an allergic reaction to the formula. We took her to the ER. By that time, her belly was covered in hives.  Thankfully all her vitals were perfect, so it was all external. After almost three hours and a steroid, they sent us home. It was the scariest experience so far! Welcome to parenthood. We go see an allergist next week to do some test. For now, no more trying formula. Breastmilk all the way!

Hadley's first Valentine's Day was full of love! She is so blessed to have so much love from all of you!

Off to bed! We love you!
